Mrs. Katherine Wetzler Aeschliman was the only daughter of Joseph and Katherine Wetzler and was born near Metamora, Illinois, May 4, 1852, and departed this life at the beautiful hour of sunset, August 3, 1926, making her 74 years and three months old. Her brother, Hartman Wetzler died in 1924. She was married to Simon Aeschliman on December 29, 1872 and to this union was born eight sons and four daughters. David and Joseph of Roanoke, Ill.. Lewis of Kokomo, Andrew of East Grand Forks, Minn., and John of Francesville. One son, Joseph died in 1890, and Peter and Samuel in 1919. The daughters are Mrs. Marie Switzer of Brighton, Mrs. Emma Gerber of Algona, Iowa, Mrs. Lydia Alt of Medaryville and Miss Perseda at home. There were also twenty-five grandchildren and one great grandchild. Mrs. Aeschliman had been in declining health for a year, but only for a week had she been in a critical condition. Death was caused by a complication of diseases. Mrs. Aeschliman united with the Christian Apostolic church at an early age and remained true to the last. The funeral was held from this place on Friday forenoon and was largely attended owing to the deceased being well known and liked. The services were in charge of Rev. Robert Bohler of Wolcott and Rev. Samuel Shumaker of Roanoke, Ill. Rev. Philip Gutwein offered prayer at the grave. Rev. Shumaker was a life-long friend of Mrs. Aeschliman. Interment was given in the cemetery east of town.
