Mrs. Mary E. Parkinson
East Arlington - Mrs. Mary E. Parkinson, long a resident of East Arlington, died Thursday afternoon at Barre City Hospital, following a heart attack which she had suffered while visiting at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. Vincent Drake of Barre.
Mrs. Parkinson was born Aug. 7, 1883 in White Creek, daughter of Stephen and Dora (Miner) Bull. She was a member of the East Arlington Congregational Church; the Ladies' Aid Society of that church, Enterprise Society and the Woman's Christian Temperance Union.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. George (Mildred) Simmonds of Wynantskill, N.Y., and Mrs. Lillian Elwell of East Arlington; five grandchildren and one great grandchild; one sister, Mrs. Fred Steele of Shushan, N.Y.. Her husband, Robert Parkinson, preceded her in death in November 1941.
The remains will be transferred late today from Stevens Funeral Home to her home in East Arlington where friends may call after seven tonight.
Funeral services will be held at the Congregational Church Sunday at 2 pm. The Rev. Robert Neale will officiate. Burial will be in the family plot in Evergreen Cemetery, Arlington.
