A friend who went to college with him. Heaven gained a wonderful angel. Rod was such a big part of my life in college at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. He was majoring in Political Science and studied so hard and made good grades. He never missed a chance to borrow my MG sports car and was quite the figure in it. It devastated me when I learned of his death. He was truly an American Hero. You will always be in my heart, dear Rod. Thanks for the memories. Dorothy Fisher, 9 Thomson Avenue, Canton, NC 28716.

A Fellow Veteran & Family Friend. I saw Your Daughter and Your Grandchildren. Although I have never met you, I have for friends your daughter, Lisa and Grandchildren, Savannah and Owen. I learned soon after meeting your wife Becky, that you had been killed in Vietnam. I now think of you when I see them, it is a shame that you are not hear to see them growing, playing and learning. But your memory remains alive with them. God has watched over them and provided for them. Thank you for your sacrifice. Gary Lisle, Vietnam Jan 1966 - Feb 1967 D Company, 1st Battalion, 9th Marines. Gary Lisle, [email protected].

He served with the 8th Tactical Fighter Squadron, 8th Tactical Fighter Wing, 7th AF.
