Christena Ruth Livingston, a life long resident of the Cisco, Texas area passed away Monday, November 27, 2006, in Brighton, Colorado, surrounded by her loving family. She was eighty-five.

Ruth was born on Christmas Day, 1920, and was named Christena Ruth Brown in honor of the special occasion. Growing up near Scranton, she was quite the tomboy and was nicknamed Billie Ruth. Her athletic skills, beauty, and sweetness caught the attention of a local boy, Charlie Livingston, and they were married in 1939. They continued their union for almost 67 years, until his death in September of 2005.

After living in the Mitchell community and Carbon for a few years, they moved to their small farm south of Cisco where they shared so many happy memories and raised their two sons, Coy and Stan.

Ruth was always active in community and church activities. She tended to liven up the occasions with her piano playing, singing, lively conversation, and delicious homemade pies, cakes, fried chicken, banana pudding, and peach cobbler. She made many lasting, loving, friends throughout her life and always felt so blessed with such wonderful people surrounding and supporting her.

Ruth devoted much of her life to the Church and living a life that reflected those beliefs. She would want everyone to know that she always found comfort and fulfillment in God's grace-- even in death, through eternal life-and that you can have that same peace and contentment in your life. God bless you all.

Survivors include two sons, Coy (Sharon) and Stan (Paula); five grandchildren, Cheryl (Ron) Hart, Kenneth (Helen), Phillip (Samantha), Jason, and Austin; six great grandchildren, Amanda, Shelby, Morgan, Brigitt, Luke, and Hope; one great-great grandchild, J. J., all of Colorado; and many nieces, nephews, other special relatives, and lifelong friends.

Services will be 11:00 am Saturday, December 2, in the
Kimbrough Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Reverend Benny Hagan and Reverend Baylis Pope. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Friday at the funeral home.
