Spring Grove, Frank J. Altland Jr., 85, passed away on December 31, 2016, at Pleasant Acres Nursing Home in York.

He was the loving husband of Helen Mae (Fishel) who passed away in 1993.

Frank was born in Jackson Township on October 14, 1931, and was the son of the late Frank J. Sr., and Florence (Small) Altland.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged.

He worked at P.H. Glatfelter, in Spring Grove, for over 26 years and retired in 1994.

He was a member of Spring Grove Fire Co., Spring Grove VFW Post #5265, the Quarter Century Club at PH. Glatfelter and Trinity Roth United Church of Christ in Spring Grove.

He is survived by his sons, Carl Altland and wife, Kim of Spring Grove and Jesse Altland and wife, Deb of York; two grandsons, Bryan and John; and four great-grandchildren, Logan, Lily, Levi, and Lucas.

He is also survived by his brothers, Jack and Calvin Altland; and his sister, Annie Myers.

He was predeceased by his daughters, Joan and Helen Altland; his son, Earl Altland; and his brother, James Altland.

Following cremation, services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Cremation services are under the direction of Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service Inc., of Spring Grove.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Trinity UCC, 6417 Church Rd. Spring Grove PA 17362.
