FARRELL, MRS. VELMA E. RICE, of Birmingham, died Monday, March 10, 1997. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles (Red) Stanley Farrell. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Birmingham and former resident of Trades Towers. Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 12, 1997 at Elmwood. Survivors include sons, Charles and wife, Margaret Farrell and Richard & wife, Alice Farrell; grandchildren, C. Stan Farrell, Ryan Farrell, Matt Farrell, Debra Farrell Richard & Teresa Farrell Whittle and five great grandchildren all of Birmingham; several nieces and nephews; brother, James C. Rice of Ohio. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 11, 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Birmingham or The American Heart Association.
