SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Dorothy Belle Briggs, 85, of Outlook Point, and formerly of 20814 Doylestown Road, Dry Run, Pa., died Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2002, at Shippensburg Health Care Center.
Born Aug. 23, 1916, in Doylesburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late William and Nettie Doyle Seibert.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Jackson Briggs, in 2000.
She worked at Stanley Co. in Chambersburg, Pa.; at East Waterford Sewing Factory in East Waterford, Pa., and drove a school bus for the Fannett Metal School District.
She was a member of Doylesburg United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Willing Workers Sunday School Class and taught Sunday school.
She was a member of Franklin County Farm Women; a former member of Fannett Metal Volunteer Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary; and a 4-H leader.
She is survived by two daughters, Dolores J. B. Mullen of Waynesboro, Pa., and Sherrie D. Mellott of Mercersburg, Pa.; one son, Lawrence L. Briggs of Dry Run; five grandchildren and one great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by four brothers.
Services will be Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at John L. Agett Funeral Home, Dry Run. The Rev. William Bair will officiate. Burial will be in Doylesburg United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The viewing will be private.
