Katherine Johnson Bean, age 90, died January 21, 2011. She was an active member of Brook Hollow Baptist Church for 56 years and was ordained a deacon there. She was director of the International Sunday School Department at Brook Hollow and a founding member and former director of the International Friends program that met at Woodmont Baptist Church for 34 years. She was an avid gardener. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Mava Johnson, husband, Edward Bean, 5 brothers, William, Carl, Charles, Hollis, and Thomas and 3 sisters, Josephine, Ruth, and Marie. She is survived by her daughters, Pamela (Jeff) Clanton of Nashville and Melinda Easterling of Fairview, TN, 6 grandchildren..., and 2 great-grandchildren... A private burial will take place at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens. -- The Tennessean, 2 Feb. 2011.
