On the 1910 Pittsburgh Ward 19, Allegheny Co., PA census, I found grocery store driver Samuel G Anderson, 34, born in Ireland; wife of 26 years Sarah H Anderson, 43, Ireland, had 5 kids, all living; children all PA born: Robert L Anderson, 25; Aaron Anderson, 24; Samuel G Anderson Jr., 21; William M Anderson, 10 and Joseph B Anderson, 3. Samuel and Sarah immigrated here in 1880.

Florine L Eubank, the daughter of Robert Eubank and Margaret Loving, age 30, born in Amherst Co., VA, married Physician Joseph B Anderson, the son of Samuel G Anderson and Sarah Love, age 31, born in Pittsburgh, PA, on 22 Nov 1938 in Wilkinsburg, Allegheny Co., PA. Marriage License #4532, 16 and 21 Nov 1938.

LEXINGTON - Dr. Joseph Boyd Anderson, age 83, died Saturday morning, July 7, 1990, in the Lynchburg General Hospital. He was a resident of Lexington for 13 years before recently moving to Lynchburg. He was born February 17, 1907, in Pittsburgh, Pa., the son of the late Samuel Glenn Anderson and Sarah Love Anderson. Dr. Anderson received his doctor of medicine in 1931 from the University of Pittsburgh, completed his residency in urology in 1935 and entered private practice in Pittsburgh. He served in the Army Medical Corps during World War II from 1942 through 1945. Following service in New Guinea, he was discharged with the rank of major. After returning from service, he was in private practice for over 20 years, following which he served as an administrator with the V.A. for an additional six years. He retired from this position in 1972 to Florida for several years before moving to Lexington. Dr. Anderson was a member of the Lexington Presbyterian Church, a lifetime member of the College of Surgeons, the American Medical Association, and other medical societies. He was also a Shriner and a 32nd degree Mason. Surviving are his wife, Florine Eubank Anderson; two nieces, Joan Anderson, Pittsburgh, Pa.; Mrs. Sarah Hamilton, Lynchburg; several nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, at the graveside in the Stonewall Jackson Cemetery officiated by Dr. L. Randolph Harrison. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Harrison Funeral Home, Lexington. Roanoke Times, VA, July 9, 1990
