Daughter of Lena Burnett Thurston and Eugene Armstead Thurston of Richmond, Virginia. She was born in Richmond, VA and spent most of her life there until she met and married Thomas Blair Griffin, a canadian gentleman, and they moved to Springfield, Massachuttes. She never had any children of her own, but helped Tommy raise two or three of his from his first marriage. She had 10 siblings. Tommy died several years before her.
