Reed Saville, age 93, passed away peacefully at the home of his daughter, Colleen Howell, on August 13, 2016.

Reed was born 13 May, 1923 in Salt Lake City to Clifford Walter Saville and Crystal Lavetta Reed Saville. He lived in many places around Salt Lake City, Rock Springs, Wyoming, St. Louis, Missouri, Dallas, Texas, and San Jose, California. Reed and Beth also lived for a time in Tehran, Iran where Reed was working for AT&T.

Reed married his sweetheart Beth Jensen on July 30, 1940 in Salt Lake City, Utah at Reed's parent's front room. This was during World War II and Reed was working for AT&T Telephone Company. Reed was drafted into the army signal corps and served in Germany. When he returned from serving our country, he went back to work at AT&T.

The young couple moved to Rock Springs, Wyoming where their son, Gary and daughter Colleen was born. The next job transfer brought them back to Salt Lake City, Utah. Their youngest son, Brad was born here. The next few years the family moved several places until Reed, and Beth finally settled in San Jose, California.

Reed was a valiant member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings. Reed had a strong testimony and love for his Savior Jesus Christ, and was an example of service in his life. Reed and Beth served a mission for their church. Reed served as a Bishop and loved his ward family.

Reed and Beth loved to travel with family and friends. They went on several cruises all over the world and also loved to go camping in their RV. Reed loved to fish.

In 2014 his beloved sweetheart, Beth passed away. Reed is survived by his children: Gary (Colleen) Saville, Colleen (Robert) Howell, and Brad (Tammy) Saville, 12 grandchildren, and 33 great grandchildren.

Reed was loved by all and will be greatly missed.

Funeral services for Reed will be held Saturday, August 27 at 11:00, at The LDS Church, 6625 Camden Ave. San Jose. President Lee Green is presiding and Bishop Courtney Black conducting. A viewing will be held at 10:00 A.M. prior to the church service. The internment will follow the services at the Los Gatos Memorial Park , 2255 Los Gatos, Almaden Road, San Jose, CA.
