Loving Mother & Grandmother
Virginia Louise (nee Himes) Granville, age 62, entered into rest on Friday, May 19, 2006, after a long and tiring illness. Her journey in this world began on the 13th day of June, 1943, in the township of Pine Creek, Pennsylvania; she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Florence (nee Whitesel) Himes. At an early age, she relocated to the Tonawandas where she completed her schooling, raised a large family, and went on to become a graduate of the Kell Business Institute. Virginia was employed in the cafeteria of the DuPont Plant in the Town of Tonawanda before retiring due to illness in 2004. She was the wife of the late Henry "Bob" Carbonneau, who died July 24, 2004.
Virginia is survived by two sons, Daniel (Jeannette) Granville of Commerce City, Colorado, and George Carbonneau of North Tonawanda; four daughters, Pamela Granville of Longwood, Florida, Sheila Cederman of Lockport, Marcia (Michael) Michaels of Niagara Falls, and Amy (Sam) Carozzolo of North Tonawanda; two brothers, Norman and John Himes both of Niagara Falls; and a sister, Lyla (Robert) Bonnett of Webster. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, a great-granddaughter, and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 7-9 PM Monday and 2-4 and 7-9 PM Tuesday at the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., Adam and Seymour Streets, Tonawanda, where funeral services will be held at 10 AM Wednesday; the Rev. Eldon Snyder officiating. Friends invited. Interment at Acacia Park Cemetery, Town of Pendleton.
