CALVIN G. GURALSKI
(1956 - 2016)

Sun Prairie- After months of battling cancer, Calvin "Cal" Gerard Guralski died suddenly on August 22, 2016 at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg, WI with his family at his side.

Calvin was born on August 22, 1956 in Manitowoc, WI and lived in Clover, WI on the outskirts of Manitowoc. He attended Manitowoc Public Schools graduating Manitowoc Lincoln in 1974. Cal was a journeyman machinist and worked at Manitowoc Company for 10 years, Voith Paper in Appleton for 17 years, and most recently at Weir Minerals in Madison, WI from January 2004 to January 2016.

He was preceded in death by daughter Cassie Rose Guralski, parents Daniel and Catherine (Gamble) Guralski, father-in-law and mother-in-law Stephen and Rosalia (Bushman) Wagner, and stepfather-in-law Leo Martzahl.

He is survived by wife Kathryn (Wagner) Guralski of Sun Prairie, WI, son and daughter-in-law Keb and Kari (Swain) Guralski of Lake Tomahawk, WI and grandchildren Josephine Guralski and August Guralski of Lake Tomahawk, WI. He is also survived by two brothers Daniel Guralski (friend Julie) of Reedsville and Andy Guralski (friend Ginger) of Crivitz; three sisters Anne (Ron) Glatt of Green Bay, Gail Guralski of Whitelaw and Mary (Dale) Liermann of Manitowoc; seven brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws Pat (Jim) Milligan of Valders, Jerome (Diane) Wagner of Valders, Andrew (Carol) Wagner of Oconomowoc, Ann (Floyd) Zeman of Whitelaw, Steve (Bonnie) Wagner of Manitowoc, Ellen (Dennis) Buck of Newton, and Carmen (Michael) Pankratz of Newton. Survivors also include many loving and caring nephews and nieces.

Calvin married Kathryn Wagner on September 7, 1979 at St. Gregory Church, St. Nazianz, WI. He was a machinist by trade but his true passion was being in the outdoors. Cal's love of nature lives on in his son Keb, who is a Forester and is sharing that passion of the outdoors with his children. Cal enjoyed growing a vegetable garden and landscaping in the yard. He loved to spend time in the woods and on the water. He especially enjoyed hunting deer with a bow as well as a gun. He mentored his son and several nephews on how to hunt for deer.

When Cal was asked what his greatest joy in life is he repeatedly responded with his family. He loved his grandchildren very dearly and they brought sunshine to a sad home in his final days. He was their chief apple peeler, jungle gym, and an amazing grandfather. His greatest struggle in life was losing his daughter in a car crash in 2006.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday August 27, 2016 at ST PETER CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5001 N. Sherman Ave. Madison with Msgr. O. Charles Schluter presiding.
