Pickens - Lois Patterson Britton, 92, wife of the late Ansel Britton died on Thursday, June 26, 2014.
Born in Pickens County, she was the daughter of the late Clove Evatt and Tillman Patterson. Lois was retired from Sangamo Electric and was a member of Red Hill Baptist Church for over 60 years.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend whose love of the Lord showed in all she did.
Surviving are her children, Lucille Maltby, Juanita Stewart (Buddy), Carolyn Frady of Michigan, Judy Chandler (Terry), Jackie Alexander (David) of Liberty, Larry Britton, Donnie Britton (Cindy), Ernie Britton (Glennon) and Scott Britton (Nancy) all of Pickens; 12 grandchildren, Jamie Stewart, Shannon Gibson, Melissa Roper, Amanda Snyder, Jenna Eller, Cory Chapman, Robbie Frady, David Alexander, Jr., Adam Alexander, Eric Britton and Tiffany Cable; 22 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and two sisters, Velma Lesley of Conway and Ruby Guy of Spartanburg.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Darlene Britton, an infant girl, a grandchild, BJ Stewart and two great grandchildren, Christian Hunter Chapman and Megan Evatt. Lois had several half brothers and sisters.
Graveside services were held on Sunday, June 29 at 2 p.m. Red Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
