ANTHONY, Mrs. Betty J., 91, passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2016. Born in Richmond, she graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and attended Longwood College (previously State Teachers College) and Smithdeal Massey Business College. Betty worked at C&O Credit Union, and for 40 years she worked alongside her husband in the development of Mechanical Projects Incorporated and Hampton Scientific Industrial Center. They later owned and operated Hampton Roads Marina. Upon retirement, they enjoyed vacationing at their winter home in Florida. Betty was a member of Newport News Republican Women's Club and Saint Joseph Catholic Church. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Andrew "Tony" Anthony; and her grandson, Brantley Johnson Roberts.
