Services for Mrs. Gladys I. Henning, 81, of Mexico, were held at Arnold Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Heiney officiating. Burial in East Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Mexico, Mo.

Mrs. Henning died at 4:45 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, at Caldwell Nursing Home where she had resided since March. She had been in ill health for some time.

Gladys and twin sister, Glenn, were born in Lowell, Ind., May 4, 1901, daughter of Everett and Enola Hayhurst Jones. Gladys was married first to Charles Ray Duncan, on Dec. 22, 1920, and they had 8 children. She later married Fred J. Henning Sr., who died in April 1972.

Among the survivors were one son, James Duncan of Costa Rica, five daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Barbara) Shoemaker, Laddonia, Mrs. Enola Dingledine, Mexico, Mrs. Deloris Fenton, Montesano, Wash., Mrs. Kathleen Buffington, Vandalia, and Mrs. Martha McCully, Sunnyvale, Calif.; several grandchildren; and her twin sister, Mrs. Glenn Bondurant of Madison.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her two husbands, one son, Dallas Duncan, daughter, Bonnie Nichols, and several brothers and sisters.
