James Clapper of Carson Valley, Duncansville, R. D., died at 11:45 p. m. Tuesday at the Altoona Veterans Administration Hospital. He was born at Carson Valley Mar. 12, 1896, a son of Samuel R. and Mary Ellen Hoover Clapper. An employee of the paint shop, Pennsylvania Railroad in Altoona, Mr. Clapper was a veteran of the 83rd infantry division, serving in France in World War I, and a member of the Carson Valley Church of the Brethren. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Thelma (Brubaker) Clapper.
