Valerie Marie McNamara of Whiteside in Richmond County, died on 3 Oct 2014 in the Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston.
Daughter of the late Ronald and Mary Lillian (née McNamara) Dobbin; wife of 64 years of Raymond McNamara; mother of Jerry of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, Shaun of Whiteside; sister of Ronald Dobbin, Mary (Paul) MacDonald, Carmel Scanlan, Anne (Tony) Landry, Margaret (Neil) Moran, Diane (Kenneth) MacDonald, Jean (Larry) Smith and Paula (Larry) Orbell.
She was predeceased by an infant daughter, Mary Deborah Ann McNamara, and brothers, Dan and Charles Dobbin.
She worked at the Wandlyn in Port Hawkesbury for a time, and then in the rent-a-car business. She was a volunteer with St. Francis de Sales CWL; Valerie served several years as a member of the board of directors of the Riverdale Credit Union; she served as chairperson of the St. Francis de Sales centennial committee; and she volunteered with the Palliative Care at the Strait Richmond Hospital.
Funeral mass was held on Friday, October 10, in St. Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church, Lower River Inhabitants, Father Callistus Abazie officiating.
