The Southern Illinoisan, Monday, September 8, 2003 DU QUOIN -- Charles J. Anheuser, 59, of Du Quoin, passed away at 4:49 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, 2003, at the Du Quoin State Fairgrounds from a truck accident. Charles was a retired coal miner for Arch Coal Co. Captain Mine. He was a maintenance worker at the Du Quoin State Fairgrounds. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Du Quoin, Du Quoin Elks Lodge, Du Quoin Masonic Lodge and the UMWof A. He was born April 5, 1944, in Du Quoin, the son of Charles W. and Pauline (Hill) Anheuser. He is survived by his parents of Du Quoin; one brother, Kenneth W. Anheuser of Du Quoin; three nieces, Kristina Jo Anheuser , Jeannie Marie Cook and Angela Kay McKinnies; nephew, Kenneth G. Anheuser and several cousins, aunts and uncles. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2003, at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with the Rev. Gerald Wright and Msgr. Harry Jerome officiating. The rosary will be prayed at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery at Du Quoin. Friends may make memorials to the donor's favorite charity, Spirit of Life Christian Church, Sacred Heart Church or the Sacred Heart School and will be accepted at the funeral home.
