Lloyd Ivan Sandstrom 3/12/45 ~ 12/5/02 ST. GEORGE, UTAH - Lloyd Ivan Sandstrom, 57, passed away Thursday, December 5, 2002. He was born March 12, 1945, in Salt Lake City, UT, to Ivan and Rose Sandstrom. He married Nancy Stahle on July 17, 1964, in Farmington, UT. Lloyd was a graduate of Bountiful High School in 1963. He worked as a brick mason, then went to work for Niederhauser Ornamental and Metal Works working up to Shop Foreman. Lloyd left Niederhauser after 25 years to pursue other opportunities and gain experience in steel fabrication. After 10 years, Lloyd returned to Niederhauser as Plant Manager to establish a branch in Washington, UT. Lloyd loved spending time with his family and friends at Lake Powell at the helm of their beautiful boat. He was able to excel at anything he undertook. Lloyd had a special personality and had many friends who loved being with him. He loved spending time with his five grandchildren and making sure they were spoiled rotten. He made everyone feel special and will be sorely missed. He was a loving husband, devoted dad, and special Grandpa. Lloyd, rest well knowing you were loved by all of us. He is survived by his wife, Nancy, St. George, UT; two children, Todd (Laurie) Sandstrom, Layton, UT, Brandy (Roger) Barker, Washington, UT; a sister, Ina (Lester) Knight, CA; grandchildren, Brandon, Landon, Cory, Bailey, and Shelby. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Jack Mezenen, and a son, Shane Jeremy Sandstrom. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, December 10, 2002, at 1p.m., at the Spilsbury & Beard Mortuary, 110 South Bluff Street, St George, UT. Friends may visit Monday, December 9, 2002, from 6to 8 p.m. at the mortuary, and again on Tuesday, December 10, 2002, one hour prior to services. Arrangements are made under the direction of Spilsbury & Beard Mortuary, 673-2454. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Kony's Toys for Tots, 750 West Ridgeview Drive, St. George, UT 84770.
