Wynona Amorosa was born in Nowata, Oklahoma, on April 14, 1924, to Lon and Lucinda (Sanders) Willhite. She passed away on August 29, 2016, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
Wynona graduated from Chilocco Indian School on May 20, 1942. She met Albert in Muskogee and they were married on May 11, 1944. Albert was enlisted in the US Army and following his discharge they moved to Rhode Island where he was originally from. They would later move back to Tulsa, Oklahoma where Wynona began working at McDonald Douglas in 1952 and later at Rockwell retiring at the age of 69. She was involved in manufacturing airplanes and enjoyed manufacturing components for the Space Program.
Wynona loved to fish, sew, work in the garden, animals and the times spent with her family.
Wynona was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Amoroso; and her two sisters, Juanita Christie, and Rachel Holton.
She is survived by adopted daughters, Rose (Pixie) Drake and Jean Haynes and husband Pete; adopted grandchildren; Peter Haynes, Christie Eden, Johsua Wilkey, Bryan Wilkey and wife Twyala, and Skyler Drake; adopted great grandchildren, Kylie Eden, Connor Eden, Zane Howard, and Blade Howard; cousins, Fausten Willhite, Pam Hood, Ruth Willhite, and many “Sander’s cousins” and many other dear friends and loved ones.
