Ollie Rosie Ammons Peek, 87, of Martin Peek Road, Franklin, passed away Thursday, Nov. 30, 2006, at Mountain Trace Nursing Center in Sylva.

Born in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Richard Perison and Ruth Henry Ammons. She was married to Martin Peek, who died in 1961. She was also preceded in death by a son, Charles Earl Peek, who died in 1992.

She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by four daughters, Hester Mull of Franklin, Margie Edwards of Stanfield, Ethel Shelley of Charleston, S.C., and Bethel McCarter of Cullowhee; four sisters, Florence Bishop of Cullowhee, Kate Bishop of Lanexa, Va., Anna Vee Peek of Franklin and Alice Aikens of Tabb, Va.; three brothers, R.V. Ammons of Yorktown, Va., Earnest Ammons and Earl Ammons of Cullowhee; 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was held Sunday, Dec. 3, at 1:30 p.m., in the Chapel of Bryant Funeral Home, with Revs. Ray Fox and Steve Webb officiating.


Burial was at Ellijay Missionary Baptist Church. Pallbearers were Jerry Mull, Ricky Mull, Martin Edwards, Wayne Edwards, Jacob Edwards, David Joseph Shelley, Rusty Peek and Darren Webb.
