She was born Genevieve Rosbury on August 2, 1907 in Massachusetts, the second of nine children, and oldest daughter of Joseph LaFramboise/Rosbury and Délia Poulin.

Her father was an immigrant from Québec, Canada. When asked about his last name, he told people that LaFramboise translates to raspberry in English. With a slight French accent, when he said it, the name sounded like Rosbury, and that is the name that he Americanized to. All 9 children were born Rosbury.

Joseph's brother did not Americanize the last name, so when he filled out cemetery records for St. Joseph's, he wrote that Jennie's maiden name was LaFramboise, as opposed to her legal last name of Rosbury.

Jennie was married 3 times. Sadly, all 3 of her husbands left her widowed, Peter Basios, John Ruddy & John Zelonka. She was always married in churches, as Jennie was a very devout Christian woman.

Genevieve (Jennie) had a son born in 1925 who was adopted by Petros Basios (Peter) when she married him.

Petros Anthonios Basios was her first husband; they married on Feb. 5, 1928 in NYC. He Americanized his name to Peter Arthur Basios. They went on to have 8 children, only 4 of whom lived to adulthood in addition to Jennie's first child, who survives her. Peter died in 1943.

About 1944, Jennie then married John Ruddy. Everyone in the family really liked him, and he treated her very well. He died in April of 1953, very unexpectedly. All of her kids look back on their step-father fondly.

In the late 1950's, Jennie met a man at church named John Zelonka. They married in 1961, and again, he left her widowed after only 3 years of marriage.

Jennie was a warm, loving and compassionate mother & grandmother. She was truly loved by all, and very much missed by those who knew her.
