Fred learned the dental technician trade in Ohio. He served with the United States Army during WWII as a medic. He is survived by his wife, Laverne; his sons, Larry and Donny; two grandchildren; a brother and five sisters. He was preceded in death by his son Major Frederick Joel Ransbottom.
