Natalie R. (Bennett) Crompton, 87, of New Bedford, passed away Thursday, September 1, 2016, at St. Luke’s Hospital, in New Bedford, after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late William H. Crompton.

Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Edward H. and Grace S. (Athearn) Bennett, she was a lifelong resident of the city and graduate of New Bedford High School. Natalie was a longtime member of the North Baptist Church, in New Bedford.

Mrs. Crompton was a teacher’s aide for many years in the New Bedford school system. She also was a volunteer usher at the Zeiterion Theatre for the past 25 years.

She is survived by a daughter, Beverly C. Hill of Virginia Beach, VA; a brother, Robert Bennett and his wife Darlene of CA; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Crompton was the mother of the late Melissa G. Crompton and sister of the late Mavis Adams.

Calling hours are Monday, from 4-7pm, in the Donaghy Funeral Home, 465 County Street, New Bedford. Her funeral service will be Tuesday, September 6, 2016, at 10:00am, in the funeral home followed by interment in Pine Grove Cemetery, New Bedford.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the North Baptist Church, 750 County St., New Bedford, MA 02740.
