Film and Broadway Producer and Entertainment Lawyer. Born Jay Issac Julien to Louis and Sara Julie in New York. He was a veteran of World War II, and was a participating soldier during the invasion of Normandy on June 6, 1944. He married actress Julie Harris in 1946, but they divorced in 1954. He produced many New York plays from the 1950s-1990s, including the highly successful "A Hatful of Rain" at the Lycium Theatre in 1955, starring Ben Gazzara, Shelley Winters and Tony Franciosa, all of whom would remain life-long friends and clients. In 1958 he married the former Ann Weidner. He had an office for many years on Times Square at the Paramount Theater (Jesse Lasky) Building in New York City. He worked with numerous other well-known film and stage stars over the years, including Robert De Niro, Martin Scorsese, Ben Gazzara, Harvey Keitel, Martin Balsam, Christopher Walken, Joe Pesci, Treat Williams, Teri Garr, Griffin Dunne, and Vincent Gardenia, respectively. He occasionally appeared in films as an actor, most notably as Jerry Lewis' attorney in "The King of Comedy" (1982). His wife Ann preceded him in death a few months earlier. They were married for 57 years. He was a devoted father and father-in-law of Andrew and Jane, Aaron and Abigail, Susannah and Christopher Barnes. Grandfather of Devon, Pat, Sam, Gabe, Isaac, Asa, David, and Julien. Cherished brother of the late Edward Julien.
