STEPHEN TAYLOR, FORMER OAK RIDGE FARMER, BURIED
Stephen Van Dyke Taylor, 67, former resident of Oak Ridge, died in a Monroe sanitarium Sunday, following a prolonged illness. Funeral services were held Monday at 3 pm with the Rev. Father Manfred Jocken officiating. Interment was in the Veterans of Foreign Wars (V. F. W.) plot of Riverview Burial Park. Pallbearers were all members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Rodney J. Hobbs post of Morehouse Parish.

Mr Taylor was born in Macon, Mississippi, and served in the First Mississippi National Guard at the start of the Spanish American War. Later he enlisted and served in the Philippines. After his discharge from the Army, Mr. Taylor settled in Oak Ridge as a farmer. Later he moved to Monroe. He had been confined to his bed for the past several years.

Mr. Taylor is survived by the following sons and daughters:

Frances Kennedy "Frank - Red" Taylor in the U. S. Army
William DeWitt Taylor of Monroe
Mrs. W. R. Hansen of Columbus, Ohio
