George A. Speers, the son of Chief of Police Speers, was sent to buy some groceries yesterday afternoon by his mother and when he came back he brought not groceries, but a wife.
The family was surprised and did not know exactly, at first, how to receive the substitute for groceries. But the young lady, Miss Jennie Vanice of this city, is a most excellent young lady, and Mrs. Speers could not long regret the loss of her handsome son, considering that he goes into such charming hands...
