Born May 8, 1898, in Norman, Oklahoma, she married Homer C. Clayton, who preceded her in death in 1959. They were married May 29, 1918, in Walters, Oklahoma. She had been a resident of Albany 45 years.

A bookkeeper, she was also a member of First Christian Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was a member of the Eastern Star and accompanied the group on the piano for 27 years.
