Thomas married Margaret Reilly on December 4th, 1814 in Tuam, Co Galway. They raised their children Patrick (1816 – 1900), John (1818 – 1862), Thomas (1827 – 1907), Michael 1832, Mary 1836 and Myles (1837 – 1909) on the Mall in Tuam. Patrick, Thomas and Myles emigrated in turn to West Newbury in Massachusetts. John remained at home and ran a successful auctioneering and pawnbroking business with his wife Anne Lardner (1823 - 1868).

O Lord have mercy on the soul of Thomas Moylan who departed this life June 29th 1858 aged 70 years. Also his son John Moylan who died September the 29th 1862 aged 44 years. Erected by his wife Anne Moylan who died January 26th 1868 aged 43 years.
