MINEVILLE, N.Y. - Frederick "Fred" A. Allen, 86, of Wall Street in Mineville, passed away on Friday, December 2nd 2011 at the Elizabethtown Community Hospital in Elizabethtown, N.Y.
Fred was born on September 7th 1925, in Mineville, N.Y., the son of George and Besheba (Taylor) Allen.
Fred was a Veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1946.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 5802, in Mineville, N.Y. and the Mineville-Witherbee Fire Department for 48 years.
After his time in the service, he was employed by Republic Steel.
He also loved to watch his favorite team play, the Mets.
Fred is predeceased by one son, John Allen; three sisters, Cora Pecor, Winifred Podmore and Edith Brace; four brothers, Ernest, Chester, Wesley and Sherman Allen.
