Donald G. Buss, age 82, a resident of Manitowoc, WI passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at Aurora Medical Center in Two Rivers, WI. Don was born on September 23, 1931 in Two Rivers, son of the late Milda & Lloyd Peckham and Gerald & Viola Buss.

He graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1949.
Don served with the United Sates Navy from 1951 to 1955. He was very proud of the fact that he served aboard the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Wasp and traveled around the world.

On May 19, 1956, Don married Beatrice A. Hoefner at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in Manitowoc, WI.

He was employed at Eastman Manufacturing and it's many successors for 43 years until his retirement in 1993. Don was a member of the Clipper City Chordsmen for 65 years. He sang with the chorus and several quartets throughout the years including Manitones, Phase IV, and Family & Friends.
Don was an active volunteer at Repeat Performance Resale Shop where he served on the Board of Directors and as Treasurer. He was a member of Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in Manitowoc where he had served on the church council and was a former choir member.

Survivors include Don's wife of 57 years: Bea;
two daughters: Barb (Lee) Engelbrecht and Denise (Mark) Pasch;
son Dave (Barb) Buss;
seven grandchildren: Brian (Linda) Engelbrecht, Amy (Dave "Buzzy") Basken, Craig (Rachelle) Engelbrecht, Jeff (Katie) Pasch, Jennifer Pasch, Jonathon Buss, and Lindsey Buss;
eight great grandchildren: Becky, Caitlyn, Aren Engelbrecht, Gavin and Kaylee Basken, Sydney and Audrey Pasch, and Baby Engelbrecht due in March;
sister-in-law: Donna Buss;
special nephew: Allen (Karen) Peckham;
also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: LeRoy and Delmar; sister: Violet (Groelle) Rhode;
and sister-in-law: Lorraine Peckham; and special father figure: Walter Groelle.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, 916 Pine Street, Manitowoc. Rev. Paul Schossow and Rev. Nicholas Maglietto will officiate with burial to take place at Knollwood Memorial Gardens at a later date. The family will greet relatives and friends and the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Friday, February 28, 2014 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. The visitation will continue at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m.
