Edison J. Koval
Edison Joseph Koval known by the family as Skeet, was born April 30, 1935 in Syracuse New York and passed away January 19, 2014 in Tacoma, WA. After high school, he spent 4 years in the U. S. Air Force then attended Art & Design School in Seattle.

Ed was a graphic designer and fine artist. Much of his work was displayed throughout Tacoma on signs and billboards. He worked as a sign designer for Mt. Rainier National Park, a sketch artist for Acme Sign Co. in Seattle and as a sigh designer for City Sign Co. in Tacoma. Prior to retirement, Ed worked as a commercial painter.


Ed spent many hours painting and repairing Our Lady of the Hoy Rosary Catholic Church and School and Men's Club. For years he sang in the church choir.

Ed enjoyed growing interesting Vegetables in his garden, herbs and plants. His blueberries were the best! Ed also enjoyed bicycle riding with friends and mushroom hunting. He had great interest in reading and attending classes in mycology .

Ed is survival by an uncle, Donald Mann of Canada; nephew, also of Canada and many friends who enjoyed his energy and good nature.
Services will be held Wednesday January 22nd at Holy Rosary Catholic Church 424 So. 30th St. Tacoma. Visitation will be at 9 AM and funeral mass at 10 AM. Following the service at the church a committal service will be held at Fir Lane Memorial Park, 924 East 176th St. Spanaway, a reception will follow.
