He married Mary V. Squires February 14, 1959, in Fort Benning, Ga. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Alice Louise (Merle) Sharp three sons, Thomas E. (Tammy) Botkin, John J. (Beth) Botkin and James D. Botkin, four grandchildren, Tiffany, Tyler, Holli and Alanna four sisters, Betty Cook, Dorothy Madsen, Anne (Tom) Champion, and Evelyn Botkin.
He retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years of service with the rank of Sergeant First Class. He worked for Nestle-Beich from 1979 to 2000 and was a member of the Teamsters Union in Bloomington. He was an avid NASCAR racing fan, enjoyed woodworking and helping others with projects.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Judy Ann Botkin.
