Stricklin, William L.

William L. Stricklin, age 67, a Manitowoc resident, entered eternal life on Sunday, September 12, 2016 at his residence.

Bill was born on January 4, 1949 in Zanesville, Ohio. He was the son of the late Orval and Edna Herb Stricklin. He was a graduate of Zanesville High School with the class of 1967. He continued his education at Muskingum Technical College where he received an Associate's Degree in Environmental Science. Bill served his country with the United States Navy as a Navy SEAL in Viet Nam and was honorably discharged with the rank of Captain. He had been employed with the Manitowoc County Sheriff's Department for fifteen years as a corrections officer. On November 21, 2005 Bill married Betsie Dietz in Manitowoc. He was a member of Lighthouse Church Family in Two Rivers. Bill enjoyed watching NCIS on television. He was well known for his sense of humor and practical jokes. Bill was a sociable person and was always willing to lend an ear to listen to what people had to say and give a helping hand. He was strong willed and passionate about what he believed in.

He is survived by his wife: Betsie; three children: Trevor Stricklin, Wendy Stricklin, and Courtney Stricklin all of Manitowoc; four step children: Matthew Peronto, Green Bay; Sara Peronto, Brillion; Heidi Peronto, Brillion; Mitchell Peronto, Chicago, IL; one brother: Michael Protsko, TN; his best buddy, yellow Labrador Peanut; along with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Orval and Edna Stricklin; first wife: Debra; and one grandson: Carson Dennis Peronto.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, September 16, 2016 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Randy Lassila with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Manitowoc. Relatives and friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Following the graveside services there will be a luncheon for relatives and friends held at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the funeral home.
