St. Albans- Aug. 9, - Edward V. Ashline, 48, manager of the Texaco Company for 23 years was found dead in the Federal St. office this afternoon about 5:30. Death was believed due to natural causes. An autopsy will be made tomorrow morning, it was reported, at the request of company officials, although State's Attorney P.C. Warner said he saw nothing to indicate the need of one by the state. Permission to remove the body was given by George Coffe, alderman in the absence of the city health officer. He was born Dec. 8, 1897, the son of Cornelius T. and Mary (LaRoche) Ashline, and is survived by his widow, Gladys LaForce; six sons, Cleon L., Newport Naval Base; Edward L. Jr., Newark, N.J., Robert V., Harold R., Dwynne P., and Donald D., all of St. Albans; a daughter, Theresa, St. Albans; his mother Mrs. Mary Ashline, Winooski; two brothers, Peter and Leo, Burlington; two sisters, Mrs. Fred Vincent, Lebanon, N.H., and Mrs. Fabian Bushey, Winooski. Mr. Ashline was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Funeral arrangements were not completed tonight. The Heald Funeral Home in charge.
