SPRINGFIELD, IL – Mary K. Jones, 59, of Springfield, died at 7:26 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 20, 2009, at St. John’s Hospital.
She was born on July 31, 1950, in Waverly, IL the daughter of Thomas and Katherine Katie Hickman Cleveland. Her parents preceded her in death.
She has lived in Springfield for the past 13 years and Waverly most of her life and worked for the Illinois Department of Revenue for nearly 30 years.
She is survived by her companion, William Bruse of Springfield, IL; 2 daughters, Sherri Marie Long of Springfield, IL and Kimberly Lynne Bettis of Bismarck, ND; 5 sons, Durk Eugene Bettis (companion: Candice Tucker) of Riverton, IL Kenneth C. Jones (companion: Melissa Wilfong), Richard C. Jones, David Ray Jones and Patrick Eugene Jones, all of Springfield, IL; 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Sondra Prine, 2 brothers, Ernie (wife: Marcia) Cleveland and Michael Cleveland, all of Waverly, IL; a very dear friend, Tami Gross of Palmyra, IL; and also all of her extended family.
Memorial gathering will be held from 12 – 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009, at Staab Funeral Home.
