In 1935, he married Wilma Davis of Pembine, WI and they had one son Emory. Gordon drove bus for the Dunbar school for several years and worked for the Wisconsin Conservation Dept. stationed at Pembine for 34 years, in the forest fire control division, retiring in 1970
