Barbara Wildeman, 78, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Wednesday, September 14, 2016, at her home. Barbara was born on July 20, 1938, in Manitowoc, daughter of Lester and Alice (Schmidt) Schumacher. She was baptized in 1938 at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sheboygan and confirmed at St. John St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cleveland. Barbara attended grade school in a one-room school in Hika Bay. She was a 1956 graduate of Sheboygan Central High School and attended beauty school in Milwaukee. On October 14, 1961, she married John Wildeman in Cleveland. Barbara was employed as a beautician for 40 years. She was also employed with Boston Store as a store clerk for over ten years. Barbara was a member of First Reformed Church in Oostburg where she sang in the choir and attended Bible study. She was a member of the women's auxiliary with Pine Haven and a member of the Sports Core. Barbara enjoyed golf, working in the yard, sewing, needlepoint, walking, bike riding, and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed traveling with John, including four overseas trips and trips to Destin, Florida. Barbara is survived by her husband of 54 years, John; her two sons, Craig (friend Karen Ferguson) Wildeman of Sheboygan Falls and Mark (Lori) Wildeman of Mukwonago; two grandchildren, Caleb and Abby Wildeman, and Karen's son, Patrick; and Karen's granddaughters, Kylee and Nakya; one brother-in-law, Jerome Karsteadt; and her nieces and nephew, Gail, Pat, and Gary.Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Audrey Karsteadt.Funeral services to celebrate Barbara's life will be held at noon on Monday, September 19, 2016, at First Reformed Church in Oostburg with Rev. Brian Taylor officiating. A family burial will take place at Sheboygan Falls Cemetery.
