Almedia Mabel McNeal Cole, age 81 of Decherd, passed away on Friday, September 16, 2016 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 16, 1935 to the late Charles Isaac and Beatrice Veronica Sprague McNeal in Ithaca, New York. Mrs. Cole, a homemaker, enjoyed crocheting, sewing, swimming in the summer and listening to classic country. She also loved to watch Hee-Haw, cook, and work in her flower beds. Mrs. Cole attended Decherd United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Florence Smith, Helen Eaton, and Charles C. McNeal. Mrs. Cole is survived by her husband of 65 years, John Cole of Decherd; son, Ricky (Jan) Cole of Wichita, Kansas; daughters, Vicki (Gary) Farris of Winchester Springs, Onita (Edward) Hicks of Smyrna, and Rose Kovaskitz of Smyrna; grandchildren, Jennifer, Carrie, Marty, Tiffany, Megan, John, Shannon, and Shelby; great-grandchildren, A.J., Justus, Hunter, Addison, Eliza, and Brilynn; sister, Mary Holbert of Northport, AL; sisters-in-laws, Mickey Martin of Ithaca, NY, and Evelyn Rogers of Rochester, NY; and a host of treasured nieces and nephews.
