PAULINE WALLANDER
(1928 - 2016)

"Blessed are the Piece Makers, for their Children shall inherit their quilts." A great quilter, seamstress, friend, mentor, mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother entered the gates of heaven and stepped onto the soft sweet batting of the clouds. Pauline Wallander arrived at her eternal home of heaven on September 15, 2016 at the age of 88. Pauline lived a life of Christ. It was the resurrection that gave her life meaning and made her death a peaceful passage into the arms of our Lord and Savior.

Pauline was born on June 14, 1928, in Whitelaw, WI to the late Frank and Mary Zipperer. Pauline was raised on the family farm where she learned the values of hard work and dedication. She also had a love for children and shared this love as a caregiver in many homes throughout the area. On June 14, 1949, Pauline became the beloved wife of the late Mike E. Wallander. Together they raised 14 beautiful children in their strong Catholic home. In her spare time Pauline enjoyed quilting, gardening, and serving the church. Pauline stitched each day together with strings of prayer, hope and grace so that it would not become unraveled.

Pauline is preceded in death by her eldest son Harold, her husband Mike and many brothers and sisters.

Her legacy continues through the lives of her children, Richard of Spokane, WA, Michael (Bonnie) of Newton, Randy of Manitowoc, Judy (Dave) Wagner of Crivitz, Jean (Mark) Salm of Chilton, Rosie (Mike Carignan) of Bozeman, MT, Mary of Colorado Springs, CO, Wayne (Leslie) of Newton, Leon (Linda) of Valders, Ronnie, Russell (Tammy) of Manitowoc, Daniel (Laura) of Menasha, Martin of Maryland.
