The third child of Adam Spiers Jr. and Sally Magee Spiers married her first cousin, Jesse Baugh Spiers, on 7 April 1841. Her father and Jesse's father were brothers. The marriage with Doctor Reverend Spiers produced eight sons and two daughters. Jane Frances was said to be jolly and good natured. She loved people and took pleasure in being of service whenever she could. She aided her husband in his medical practice so that she studied his medical books. With his help she became adept and people would willingly see Jane if Jesse were not available. Early on she began delivering babies and brought over a hundred into the world with great success. She maintained an herb garden and from it made many medicines. She was responsible for obtaining the other ingredients from Petersburg. All while raising ten children.
