Mrs. Horne was born in Stratford on April 30, 1927, daughter of the late Stephen and Julia (Sutay) Andriso, and had been a Stratford resident most of her life before moving to Torrington 28 years ago.
Anne was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, Torrington, a member of the Sacred Heart Altar Society and the Slovak Catholic Sokols. She was a member of the Leisure Time Club, serving as the club’s events coordinator and had made many close friendships with its members.
Anne was an avid reader, enjoyed crossword puzzles, classic movies, singing and was witty. She will be remembered by family and friends for making the most delicious apple pies.
Survivors include a son, Joseph S. Horne Jr. and his wife Lindee, of Shelton; a daughter, Maryan J. Muthersbaugh and her husband Jeffry, of Haddam; a step-grandson, Jeffry Muthersbaugh II; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Horne was predeceased by two sisters, Julia Puskar and Helen Galya, and two brothers, Stephen Andriso and Edward Andriso.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. from Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington, to Sacred Heart Church, 116 Grove St., Torrington, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call Monday, Sept. 19, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home.
