Private Louis Paul Trost enlisted in Company D of the 75th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry Regiment on August 27 1861 in Philadelphia at 22 years old, although 75th PA file card says 19, I believe he was 19 when he first enlisted in the 3rd or 21st PA Infantry. He was a Baker by trade, and stood 5' 6 3/4" tall with fair complexion, blue eyes, and light brown hair. He Mustered out on August 28, 1864, expiration of term of enlistment. He also served in the 21st PA Infantry in Company K enlisting in Philadelphia on April 29 1861. Company Mustered out on August 8 1861. He also served in the 3rd PA Infantry in Company K. Originally interred at IOOF of San Francisco, now Defunct. Removed to Greenlawn Memorial Park in Colma. Husband of Sophie L. Trost.
