Jewell Bach gave up her earthly vessel and stepped on the heavenly isle of her Lord’s paradise on Tuesday August 2nd 2016. She was 81 years old. Jewell was born on November 8th 1934 to Juanita Blanche and Glen Reedy in Troutdale, VA. Jewell attended Elementary and High Schools in Sugar Grove, VA. She then went on to the University of Tennessee.

As a child she attended the Baptist Church in the Teas area of Virginia and was later a member of the Baptist Church in Marion, VA. After marrying Edward Bach they attended many Christian churches in Illinois, California, Arizona and Texas.

Her first marriage to Willis Van Hoy of Marion, VA was blessed with her daughter LaDonna and two sons Michael and Darius. Michael left this world on June 29th 1988 and leaves a daughter Michelle of Chillowie, VA. LaDonna married Larry Davis of Tazewell, VA and this union was blessed with Terry and Michael (Mikey). Cradled in his Lord’s grasp Mikey entered heaven August 15th 2012. Terry now resides in Dallas, TX. Darius married Tammy Evans of Irving, TX and this union was blessed with three sons and one daughter Evan, Matthew, Micah and Allie. Matthew, Micah, and Allie now live in Southlake, TX and Evan in Carrolton, TX.

When Jewell married her soul mate Edward Bach she became the stepmother of his 5 children Christi, Cindi, Edward Jr. (Skip), John and Thomas. Christi was blessed with the adoption of Daria in 1999 and now resides in Highwood, IL. Cindi married Doug Phillips of California and is the blessed stepmother of three children. They reside in Carmel, CA. Edward Jr. (Skip) is married to Jill and are blessed with two children Justin and Courtney. All reside in Geneva, IL. John married Thea and they reside in Madison, WI. Thomas (Tommy, Tom) married Denise of Lombard, IL and reside in Fort Mill, SC.

Returning to Marion from Tennessee University, Jewell was employed for 13 years with the Brunswick Corporation, with her last position as Administrative Manager to the President of the Defense Division. She also worked as an interior designer in local stores and as the head interior designer at Ackerman’s Furniture stores in Elgin and Crystal Lake, IL. Afterwards, she became a business broker with an office in Elgin, IL.

She and Edward lived in the Chicago area, San Diego, Tucson, Rockwall, and Lindale, TX. She toured all of our United States and world as she and her husband traveled to the Bahamas, Hawaii, The Holy Land, Greece, Italy, Spain, Yugoslavia and Scandinavian countries. She also attended Edward’s corporate meetings in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Holland, and England.

After they retired, Jewell and Edward gave back by volunteering in nursing homes, school tutoring, Meals on Wheels, Kids Hope USA, church committees and soup kitchens.
She was deep in Bible Study with generous helping hands to anyone in need. Jewell is also known for her famous delicious dinner parties, beautiful art and antique collection plus keeper of an open door in their loving home. She was always cherished as an excellent advisor with insightful vision and gracious server to family and friends. Her avocation was God and family. Her beloved husband Edward paved a path to heaven for Jewell on May 3rd 2014. They are now joined forevermore in the Glory of our God.
