Edmond J. Rorick, 96, of Mankato, MN, formerly of Batavia, passed away peacefully on Monday September 19, 2016 under Hospice Care at Cottagewood in Mankato. He was born August 10, 1920 in Lorain, OH to the late James Gordon Bennett Rorick and the late Florence Bettie (Murray) Burkhart. Mr. Rorick is preceded in death by his beloved wife Lillian (Bilich) Rorick, brother David Rorick and sister Ruth Mallinder, daughter and son-in-law Donna (Robert) Meidenbauer.

Mr. Rorick was the number one Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He was a World War II Navy Veteran, longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church. Mr. Rorick retired from Carborundum in Niagara Falls and then went on to manage the warehouse at Wortzman Furniture well into his 80's.

He is survived by his children Paula (Harry) Wortzman of Batavia, David (Jenni) Rorick of Minnesota, JoAnne Burkhart, brother in law Robert Leffke of Texas. 9 Grandchildren Alysia (David) Thibault, Ashley Yunke, Jamie Wortzman, Leanna (Daniel) DiRisio, Stefan and Andrew Rorick, Eric (Darlene) Meidenbauer, Robert (Cindy) Meidenbauer, Lori Eady; 10 great-grandchildren Leo and Ryan Thibault, Vincent and Luciana DiRisio, Cara (Kevin) Maluchnik, William and Kassidy Meidenbauer, Randi Ellen (Juan) Vasquez, Rebekah and Nikita Eady, one great-great-granddaughter Felicity, along with several nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call on Saturday from 1 to 2 PM at Gilmartin Funeral Home & Cremation Company, Inc. 329-333 West Main Street Batavia, New York 14020. A 2:00 PM Funeral Service will immediately follow at the Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest in Grand View Cemetery in Batavia.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Cottagewood Senior Community 300 Bunting Lane, Mankato, MN 56001 or Mayo Clinic Hospice 1400 Madison Avenue, Mankato, MN 56001.
