Dorothy Mae Powers, 86, died Friday, January 15, 2016 at the home of her niece, Loretta.
She was born in Russell County, Virginia; daughter of the late W. D. and Virtie Chafin Powers. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Victor Powers, Clyde Powers, and Clayton Powers. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Castlewood, Virginia. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She is survived by four nieces, Judith James and husband, Woody of Louisa, Kentucky, Loretta Duty of Hansonville,Virginia, Sharon Marsh and husband, Joe of Greenville, South Carolina, and Marlaine Wieder and husband, Walt of Kingsport, Tennessee; five nephews, Rev. Larry Powers and wife, Eva of Castlewood, Virginia, Rev. Lanny Powers and wife, Jo of Castlewood, Virginia, Rev. Dean Powers and wife, Sue of Grundy, Virginia, Richard Powers and wife, Sharon of Dungannon, Virginia, and Blane Powers and wife, Evelyn of the Philippines, several great nieces and nephews.
