This "Zachariah Albaugh 1760-1840" is probably a nephew to Eva Albaugh 1739-1780 who married John Philip Danner 1739-1810. Her father was "Zachariah Sr. Albaugh 1698-1765". According to 1800, 1810, 1820 & 1830 census this Zachariah Albaugh was "born 1760-1765" and probably in Frederick Co., MD. I call him "the other" Zachariah! LOL Some sources give his birth date as 1747 and his father may, or may not, be John Willam Albaugh 1723-1794. This Zachariah is being confused by many reseachers with Zachariah III Albaugh 1758-1857 (FAG 39192662) who died in Newton Twp., Licking Co., OH. One FAG memorial is combining these two probable 1st cousins. "Zachariah Albaugh 1760-1840" first married about 1779 to "Anna Margaret Zur Buchen 1760-1785". They had son Abraham 1780-1854 and at least one daughter. His 2nd wife was Dorothy Harter who he married 1785 in Maryland, probably Frederick conty. He's listed in 1790 census of Patapsco Lower Hundred, Baltimore Co., MD. In 1800 he's listed in Taneytown District 5, Frederick Co., MD. In 1810 he's in Pipe Creek Hundred, Baltimore Co., MD. The last trace of him is 1820 & 1830 census of Lanier Twp., Preble Co., OH. Neither he, or his wife, have been found in 1840 census so I assume that they both died before 1840. Zachariah III Albaugh 1758-1857 was a Revolutionary War veteran. He's listed in 1790 census of Frederick Co., MD. In 1800 & 1810 census he's in Woodberry Twp., Huntingdon Co., PA . I haven't found him in 1820 census but in 1830 he's listed in Washington Twp., Licking Co., OH. In 1840 & 1850 census he's listed in Newton Twp., Licking Co., OH. Some SAR claims for membership applications give a birth date of 1747 or 1748 for these Zachariah Albaughs. I think those dates were derived from the 1850 census giving Zach III as "age 102". SAR claim S2902 gives Zachariah III's dates as 21 Oct 1758-8 Nov 1857 and the 1840 census says he's "age 82" which agrees. In my opinion, the 1850 census should say "age 92", not age 102.
