Barbie passed peacefully in her home in Imperial Beach, California. Born to Ernest R. And Berdina T Houghton. Barbie moved to San Diego with her family in 1945 after World War 2, She lived in the Imperial Beach/Palm City area most of her life. She attended Mar Vista High School.

She worked in the service industry providing exemplary customer service to all she served. Following her father’s passing in 1977, she and her eldest sister Carol continued their father’s legacy developing and managing property.

Barbie lived life to the fullest on her terms. She was a proud and fiercely independent woman. She loved being the life of the party. She was well known for her " joie de vivre". She enjoyed her second home in Mazatlan, Roses and TEQUILA!!!

She is survived by her 3 daughters, Deborah, Charlotte (Dale), and Angela. Her ever beloved 6 grandchildren, Sheena (Freddie), Devon, Acacia, Jalisa (David), Brenna and Makayla and 6 great grandchildren, Zachariah, Zoe, Zaden and Zandrea Figueroa, Layla and Delilah Heckathorn. Her Sister Carol and countless friends she considered family.

The family would like to extend a special note of gratitude to Barbara Lynch, a treasured family friend for taking such phenomenal care of our mother in her final days.
