Ruth W. (Koch) Freix, 83, Green Bay, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2016.
Ruth was born July 28, 1933, in Berlin, Germany, to the late Rev. Dr. Henry A. Koch and Marie (Friedrichs) Koch. She graduated from Milwaukee Lutheran High School in 1951. After high school Ruth graduated from the Milwaukee School of Nursing in 1954, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing in 1955. In 1983 Ruth married Arthur Freix. She retired from nursing at Bellin Hospital in 1985. Ruth was a member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church since 1983, serving with the Ladies Aid. After her retirement Ruth enjoyed traveling extensively with her husband.
She is survived by brothers and sisters, Rev. Henry F. (Judith) Koch, Elisabeth (Donald) Knuth; step daughters, Patricia (Richard) Martin, and Susan (Art) Schmidt; two grandchildren, Noah and Dara. Ruth is further survived by her nieces and nephews, whom she considered to be her children: Donald (Suzanne) Knuth, Karen, (James) Grunwald, David Knuth, Katherine (Rev. Paul) Waldek, Kay Lynn Knuth, Susan (Thomas) Phelps, Rev. Henry T. (Cynthia) Koch, and Katherine (Rev. Phillip) Enderle; along with many great grandchildren and grand nieces and nephews.Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur, in 2014.
Friends may call at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, 514 S. Clay St., Green Bay, on Tuesday, September 27, 2016, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Services at 11:00 a.m. Pastor John Zabell presiding. Burial will be in the Pioneer Rest Cemetery in Two Rivers
